The other day I laid eyes on a dandelion that had gone to seed. It got me reminiscing that as a child I loved to make a wish and blow those seeds as far as I could. Whether you wish upon a star, make a wish blowing out candles on your birthday cake (can we do that again?!), or wish upon a dandelion, wishes are just so heart felt and personal.
This got me thinking a bit deeper, about goals. Are they wishes too? To me, a female fitness coach and personal trainer, there is a difference between them. A wish is hoping for something, but a goal requires a plan of action to be attached to it. Whether you wish to design and build your own home one day, or to design and build a healthier body for yourself, you can't move forward from that wish until you have a plan of action laid out. Neither just wishfully come to you.
If your plan over the summer, or even in September, is to get healthy, or healthier, you need a plan. And that plan will require you to make some changes, and those don't happen without a decision to make them, and a plan to get you there. It sounds simple….but it often isn't.
Similarly, that dream house, which requires your thoughts put on paper and a blueprint created, will also require a builder to confirm and guide you along, helping you with any changes or adjustments that need to be made to it. If your goal is to improve yourself, then you need a plan of action to include moving more and better, eating and drinking healthier options, proper rest and recovery, and creating a positive mindset for yourself to stick to your plan. And just like you need that builder to guide and support your home design, a personal trainer and/or nutritionist is a great support to help educate you on what may, or may not be needed for you to build your improved body. Quite honestly, your body is the house you will personally live in your entire life! Isn't it worth having guidance and support to ensure it's being designed and built the best way possible?
If you are ready to look at the blueprints of your health, but don't know the best way to design and lay out the goals you want to achieve, please don't hesitate to reach out. I believe strongly that the journey to a healthier, happier life doesn't have to be complicated. It just needs to be effective and straight forward. A few changes and you could be well on your way!
